Thank you to those who recently provided feedback on the final phase of the I-81 Improvement Strategy, Concepts Development. Overall, more than 1,700 comments were shared. The project team is currently in the process of reviewing the feedback and incorporating it into the final playbook. The first phase in developing the I-81 Improvement Strategy was to assess the existing transportation needs which included: highway safety, mobility, land use and access, and highway infrastructure (conditions). Those key issues were used to identify and develop a list of prioritized focus areas. Below is a summary of the key issue identified:

Public feedback regarding the conceptual improvement options was collected during an open public comment period that included two virtual public meetings from December 14 to January 28. The public comment period had over 250 participants and over 1,300 responses. Below are recordings of the public meetings. A more detailed summary of the feedback gathered will be shared soon.
